Berkeley Springs is a wonderful place to live if you like being away from it all. We live in a remote area, while it may be far from most places it is very peaceful here. The school is excellent at keeping up with what is going on with the students, they call for pretty much everything.

Can you rent the Roman baths in West Virginia?

Operated since the 1920s by the State of West Virginia, the baths were refurbished in 1995. The baths may be rented by the half hour by an individual or couple. The buildings and baths were renovated in 2020 with historic tiles, a handicapped accessible bath and a transparent covering added so the springs feeding the Roman Baths can be viewed.

How many bathtubs are in the Roman bath house?

The historic Roman Bath House on the north end of the park has 9 individual, 750-gallon walk-in tubs in private chambers available by the half hour. The park is located in the heart of town and also has an outdoor pool open in summer, a public tap for free spring water and open pools of springs run-off.

When was the Berkeley Springs Bath House built?

Notes taken from Minutes of the Bath Trustees indicate the present Federal brick structure “used for the gentleman’s bath house” was constructed in 1820. Missing for nearly a century, the Trustees Minutes were found in 2018 and are now on display in the Museum of the Berkeley Springs.

The Roman Baths housed on the ground floor of this building are open to the public daily, year round from 10am-5pm. Naturally warm, mineral waters coming from the main springs behind the building are heated to 102° and fill nine 5’x 9′ and 4′ deep tiled swimming baths in private rooms.
