Did Dansko change their sizing?
Like most shoe companies, Dansko produces some of their shoes on different lasts (the form that shoes are built on) which can affect sizing. One of our most popular Dansko lines, the Pro XP clogs, run about a half size larger than their counterpart Professional clogs.

Are Danskos bad for your knees?
My research team and others have shown that wide-based heels and moderately heeled shoes, like what’s in a “sensible” women’s dress shoe or “comfort” women’s shoe, e.g., a Dansko, abnormally increase the loads on the knees to nearly the same extent as a Manolo Blahnik.

Since Dansko Shoes run true to size, you can safely order them online without problems. Remember that they are European-sized! However, a good online store will note both the European size and the US size when you order. Dansko shoes are true to width and have Excellent Arch Support.
How do Dansko’s suppose to fit?

Are Dansko shoes supposed to fit loose?
Because each Professional Clog by Dansko is hand-stapled, there can be some variance in fit from one pair to the next in the same size. The Professional can also differ between materials. Not every material will fit the same. Although it goes against instinct and everything we were taught growing up, the fit at the heel is supposed to be loose.

The Dansko clog is designed to move freely up and down at the heel, just like a backless clog. For first-timers, this movement may take some getting used to. But if you are fit properly, the shoe will not fall off your foot, and you will soon feel as if you are walking on air.
