There is no statutory seizure-free period for driver’s license applicants. However, the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, having good cause to believe the licensee has epilepsy, may upon written notice of at least ten days to the licensee require them to submit to a medical examination.
Can you drive in Louisiana after a seizure?
Medical reports required every 6 months until seizure free for 1 year. Both the Medical Advisory Board and the physician must agree that the individual is safe to drive a motor vehicle. Periodic medical reports may be required the by the Medical Advisory Board.
