Is the Audeze LCD-X worth it in 2020?
The Audeze LCD-X is a headphone that’s been around for some time now, however I’m told there was a recent revision near the end of last year that makes it worth evaluating in 2020. For a long time, the LCD-X was considered the first step up into true flagship territory, taking notable steps forward in terms of technical performance over the LCD-2.
Why did Audeze choose the X instead of the 3?
The X would make the better reference phone as it’s more even across the frequency range IMO. As for price they both seem at the same level sonically to me but different presentations, so I can only guess that Audeze wanted to keep the 3 as the flagship making it easier to replace in the future.
