We searched for a nearby alternative and were so glad we found Eden Gardens. The park is peaceful and beautiful. We had a tailgate picnic lunch and really enjoyed the afternoon under the beautiful moss covered shade trees. I would definitely recommend putting this on your list when you want a change from the beach.

Beautiful state park. The hike was lovely through trails of pine trees and magnolias. Lots of interesting plants that you don’t see a lot of in central Florida. The rose garden and butterfly garden were also a sight for sore eyes. We sat for almost an hour on the dock at the bayou.
