The SST has lead in it and will expand drastically. The GMX has no lead it is solid copper and will with stand a lot more inpact than an SST the GMX is made for bigger tougher animals and when it expand it folds in to peddles kind of like a barnes bullet does.

I have killed dozens of deer and a couple antelope with the sst using 270, 308, and 30-06 and the bullet has always performed perfectly. All the comments about them performing poorly on elk isn’t suprising.
