If there are close friends that aren’t in your wedding party (or, again, if you’re forgoing a wedding party altogether), they’re great wedding reader options.

It must be suitable for the type of ceremony and you need to check that no embarrassing personal details have made it in! Writing your own readings, poems or even vows is a lovely personal touch though, and can produce some of the most emotional moments of the day.
How many readers should you have at a wedding?
We usually recommend limiting the number of wedding ceremony readings to one or two. Too many readings may cause your ceremony to drag on, and your guests to get a bit bored (not ideal!).
Can the bride and groom do readings?
Typically readings are done for the couple not by the couple. Also, I am not one that likes funny readings during wedding ceremonies.
