Maguire married Margaret O’Neill, the daughter of Tyrone, but was succeeded by his younger brother, Cuchonnacht. Following the breach of the terms of the Treaty of Mellifont by the Crown, he departed Ireland for the continent with Tyrone during the Flight of the Earls in 1607, dying at Genoa in August 1608.
